Description - An unusual style of poster image, particular to this artist. The black and white etching-style really highlights all that remains of the 12th century Augustinian Guisborough Priory. The East Window was retained when the rest was demolished following the dissolution of the monasteries in 1540. It is located inland from the North Yorkshire coast between Whitby and Redcar. The poster was advertising a new guidebook produced by the LNER, at a time when rambling was a very popular activity.

We have to admit to knowing nothing about Schabelsky, other than that he produced the artwork for a number of posters for the LNER around the 1920s/30s. If anyone knows any more we'll be happy to hear.
