Title - Cornwall (Polperro) - Travel by Train.
Location - Polperro, Cornwall, England.
Artist - Frank Wootton OBE (1914-1998).
Description - The southern Cornish picturesque fishing village of Polperro was a very popular location for railway poster artists. Wootton here shows us the view across the harbour towards the rustic stone buildings grouped up the steep hillsides of the village, where narrow streets wind down to the harbour. A number of small fishing boats are at rest, some with fishermen preparing for their next trip. Wootton's depiction of the water is wonderful.
