Location - Isle of Skye and Eilean Donan Castle, Scotland.
Artist - Tom Gilfillan.
Description - A breathtaking evening-light aerial depiction of the view from the mainland with Eilean Donan Castle in the foreground, and the water of Loch Alsh stretching out to the rocky coast of the Isle of Skye with the Cuillins in the background.
The ferry in the distance is probably crossing from Kyle of Lochalsh to Kyleakin, and the view today would include the road bridge.
This is a Macbraynes's poster, but was produced to fit in with the similar railway-produced posters of the time. The space at the top was often used for acknowledging their business partnerships, while it has been overstamped with MacBraynes' own details at the bottom.

Size - Double Royal (approx 40 x 25in or 101.5 x 63.5cm) plus linen border.

Thomas Gilfillan was a Scottish artist who produced a number of joint MacBraynes and railway posters, and worked for Scottish Aviation Limited producing much artwork for them as well as murals for Prestwick Airport. There seems to be nothing known about him personally.
