Description - A view of Monsal Dale from the Monsal Head side of the Headstone Viaduct, looking at the fabulous scenery along the River Wye. The railway line using the viaduct was closed to trains in 1968, and is now part of a popular walking trail, so the view is still very accessible.

Stanley Roy Badmin was a painter and etcher, mainly in watercolour and known for his book illustrations and landscape paintings, particularly involving trees. He was born in Sydenham in 1906.
He worked for the Ministry of Information during WW2 and then joined the RAF. After the war he produced a lot of work for Shell guides, and also posters for London Transport and British Railways.
