Description - A simple view of a group of people, some trees, and a side view of the outside of the Cathedral.
We have seen a version of this poster with "Great Western Railway" at the bottom, in place of Southern Railway. This suggests that the poster was commissioned jointly, probably involving the local council. Also, it may well be a pre-war painting not used at the time, as it has more of a 1930s feel to it.

More About The Artists:
Leslie Carr was born in Hove, West Sussex in 1891.
He started work at the London Stock Exchange, then served in WWI, and then became a full time artist and graphic designer. He had a martime interest, and also produced posters for the LNER and Southern Railway, and later British Railways as well as Morris Motors.
