Description - Exmouth is at the end of the 'Avocet Line' from Exeter. The view shown here is centered on the promenade area of the town along the east bank of the Exe estuary.
The poster was commissioned jointly with the local council, and it may well be a pre-war painting not used at the time, as it has more of a 1930s feel to it, with the use of block colours.

More About The Artists:
Leslie Carr was born in Hove, West Sussex in 1891.
He started work at the London Stock Exchange, then served in WWI, and then became a full time artist and graphic designer. He had a martime interest, and also produced posters for the LNER and Southern Railway, and later British Railways as well as Morris Motors.
