Title - Glasgow Electric.
Location - Helensburgh, Dunbartonshire, Scotland.
Artist - Terence Tenison Cuneo (1907-1996).
Description - The new "Blue Trains" started work on Glasgow suburban services in 1960, replacing old tired steam trains. They were a breath of fresh air at the time, with wide windows and curved front windows to look out past the driver. One is shown here alongside the River Clyde near Helensburgh, and is shown with a smokey dirty steam locomotive to the left, and a slow moving tug on the river to the right, highlighting its fast modernity. This was the original issue with the wording "Glasgow Electric"; the poster later re-issued with different wording in 1962 for the new services south of Glasgow and on the Cathcart Circle. It also exists with no wording at all. Those with wording are less common.
