Title - Let Us Help You Arrange Your Holiday Travel.
Artist - Arthur Nigel Wolstenholme (1920-2002).
Description - The bright modern face of British Railways in the 1950s - not a steam train in sight. In the middle is a brand new diesel locomotive, passing new colour-light signals under a new concrete bridge which is carrying an electric train. To the right is a new glass and concrete power signal box, with a new diesel shunting engine behind it. Total modernity, how could one refuse the offer! This poster was designed for travel agents windows, hence the reference to station prices.
This is a Stock poster, where the image would have been printed seperately, with the wording added later in letterpress form. This way, a part-pictorial poster image could be used for multiple advertising purposes.
