Description - A beautifully vibrant waterfront scene of Port St Mary, used to encourage people to travel by train to get to the Isle of Man via steamers from Liverpool and Ardrossan (a summer service which continued until 1985). The artwork for this poster was painted for it's first poster use in 1950, and British Railways used it for a number of succeeding seasons through the 1950s and 1960s. This example is one of very few artistic posters carrying the "British Rail" branding, as photographic posters had all but taken over by the mid-60s.
