Description - The ruins of the Augustinian Abbey dominate the small Borders town and former royal burgh. Wesson's watercolour depiction shows some visitors enjoying the peaceful location in the afternoon sun. A nice touch is that the wording at the bottom is all in Scottish Region light-blue colour.

Grade: B+, un-conserved.
Stiff folds with slight wear, small edge tears on folds with a couple of small pieces of scotch tape, minor creasing. More detailed photos are available on request if required.
More About The Artist:
Edward Wesson was born in London in 1910. He started painting aged 20, and became one of Britain's best 20th century watercolour artists. He was also a busy teacher and writer on art. He exhibited widely in the 50s and 60s, and produced quite a few works for British Railways and the Post Office Savings Bank.
