Description - A peaceful and timeless scene of a crofter with his sheepdog and sheep, overlooking the tiny island and its medieval castle just off the coast of Barra. This is a Macbraynes's poster, but was produced to fit in with the similar railway-produced posters of the time, and acknowledged the business partnership, mentioning British Railways at the top for obtaining more information, while also being overstamped with MacBraynes' own details at the bottom.

Thomas Gilfillan was a Scottish artist who produced a number of joint MacBraynes and railway posters, and worked for Scottish Aviation Limited producing much artwork for them as well as murals for Prestwick Airport. There seems to be nothing known about him personally.
