Description - A generic country scene of a farmyard viewed from a barn, with the village and church in the background. The view includes farm workers and hens in the foreground and a patchwork of fields stretching into the distance.
This is one of only two posters that the railways ever produced for the inland county of Leicestershire, the other one featuring Ashby-de-la-Zouch castle.

More About The Artist:
John Francis Bee was born in Wolverhampton, served in WWI, and studied art for four years in Europe and the Near East, becoming a commercial artist. He was a stage-set and show-card designer, as well as producing artwork for posters and railway carriage prints. He often signed his work with a distinctive capital B monogram.
