Description - An artistic view of the new Wilmslow signalbox and control centre and platform extension, constructed using the modern "Brutalist" architectural style in 1959. The station is on the Crewe to Manchester line, which had just been fully modernised. The light blue electric locomotive of Class 81 was also new, and was used to show the up-to-the-minute modern trains on offer following the electrification.
