Title - Londres - Pour tous renseignements sur les deplacements en Grandes Bretagne (For information on travel in Great Britain).
Location - London, England.
Artist - Stanley Payne.
Description - A pre-war Belgian-market poster in French, with "Southern Railway of England" at the bottom ('of England' was only used on non-UK-issue posters).
A great montage of London sights fills the top half of the poster, above instructions for contacting the main Brussels agency of the Railways of Britain or SNCB stations or major travel agents, to gain information about travel in Great Britain. As most visitors from Belgium would have travelled by ferry to Kent, the Southern Railway produced the poster. There was also a similar poster produced for the French market with different wording but the same print code. This Belgian one seems to be rarer.
This is a Stock poster, where the image would have been printed seperately, with the wording added later in letterpress form. This way, a part-pictorial poster image could be used for multiple advertising purposes.
