Description - An attractive view from the River Ure, through the gardens to Newby Hall, a Grade 1 listed country house, near Ripon in North Yorkshire. The stages of the house design had input from Sir Christopher Wren, John Carr and Robert Adam. The gardens were developed by the Compton family from the 1920's, with the main herbaceous border shown in the poster. It is still open to the public.
