Description - A fascinating map of central Oxford, including the locations and coats of arms of all the colleges of Oxford University at the time complete with tiny black and white vignette images of each one, and a myriad of facts about the city with both historical and contemporary references.
This poster is one of a collection saved by a railwayman who worked at Carlisle station from the 1940s to the 1960s. The poster was never used and is in the same condition as originally received at the station for display.

Very little seems to be known about JP Sayer. He was a mapmaker, illustrator, graphic designer and artist. He produced quite a few maps posters for the GWR, and also early British Railways.
