Description - A lovely bright side view of Ripon Cathedral, showing it towering over the houses of the ancient Yorkshire town of Ripon, with the River Skell in the foreground. It is rather reminiscent of a work by Thomas Girtin.
The poster was advertising a new guidebook produced by the LNER, at a time when rambling was a very popular activity.

Folds, small edge tears with scotch tape on rear, faint imprint of old writing top middle, faint date stamp on rear 22 AUG 1939 (we have no idea why). More detailed photos are available on request if required.

We have to admit to knowing nothing about Schabelsky, other than that he produced the artwork for a number of posters for the LNER around the 1920s/30s. If anyone knows any more we'll be happy to hear.
