Description - The Borders country, with the River Tweed gently winding through it, is a generally tranquil area of rolling hills, with a scattering of historic castles and abbeys. The specific view here is un-named so may be a general mixture of the essence of the area with the sheep on the hillside above the river, pastures and woods as far as the eye can see.

Robert Norman Hepple was best known as a portrait painter, particularly of the Royal Family. He became a Member of both the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and the Royal Academy of Arts.
He produced artwork for at least one other Railway Poster, on the subject of Shipbuilding.
