Description - A wonderfully tranquil view across the shores of Loch Katrine, with a pleasure steamer having just departed from Trossachs Pier and passing Ellen's Isle in the middle distance, and Ben Venue towering above in the background. This is located within the current Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. Loch Katrine is also the setting of Sir Walter Scott's The Lady of the Lake.

Jack Merriott was a landscape and portrait painter, who used both oil and watercolour media. He lectured widely, wrote and illustrated related books, and was vice president of the RI. He produced artwork for quite a number of railway posters.
